I have been a fan of comics for literally as long as I can remember. It may have possibly started in 1978 with Christopher Reeves’ Superman. I was too young to remember the actual film, but I swear I can still remember the feelings and imagery from seeing it in the theater.

My father was a comic collector, whose good friend in high school opened one of the first comic shops in Oregon. Emerald City Comics. I spent my formative years browsing the spinner racks of Emerald City. Plastic Man, Doctor Fate and Superman. Always Superman. These were a few of my favorites.

It seemed inevitable I would grow up wanting to work in them. It took far longer than it should have to give it an honest go though, and it didn’t always turn out the way one would expect. Most independent projects don’t. Yet, they were experiences I wouldn’t trade for anything. There is truly nothing much more exciting than watching characters come to life. Going to comic conventions and meeting fans, sitting on panels in discussion halls, what amazing experiences!

The Neo Crypto Squad – 2014

Imagine if you will mixing up Jonny Quest with X-Files and leaning heavily on Biblical mythologies. Yeti, dinosaurs, conspiracies, globe-trotting world saving? Oh yeah. This was a wild ride!

Sons Of God – 2016

Think Game of Thrones meets the Bible, sort of. It gets really weird in a good way. It also includes one of my all-time favorite names for a business. What do you call a brothel in a medieval  setting? The Swallowing Dragon of course!

Black Hole – Unreleased

I’m pretty disappointed this one never made it to publication. It was a space opera in the vein of Firefly or Guardians of the Galaxy. The first 12 issues or so were plotted, and the first few issues scripted. It’s too bad it never got off the ground.

More to come I’m sure!
